The Business Intelligence Analyst will align business needs with reporting by gathering requirements for data extraction and storage in order to transform and translate data into a dashboard, metrics and KPIs.
Liaison with departments to understand and translate non-technical business processes into technical requirements to meet strategic goals.
Has an understanding of and can perform requirement elicitation, strong communication skills and is self-motivated to complete tasks on time.
Can illustrate problem solving and analytical skills, with understanding of programming and database structures.

The examination process for this position will consist of a panel interview.
Essential Functions Consults with management and relevant stakeholders to define goals.
Documents requirements and business processes.
Understands and has the ability to follow requirement elicitation as defined by BABOK (Business Analyst Body of Knowledge).
Analyzes, translates, and synthesizes data.
Evaluates strategies and report out on findings with recommended solutions.
Collaborates and consults with peers, other departments, and management.
Supports and implements a data governance program.
Works with internal and external stakeholders to collect and analyze data for strategic priorities and initiatives.
Identifies opportunities for process improvement and work to define improvements.
Requirements Formal Education/Knowledge:
Work requires broad knowledge in a general professional or technical field.
Knowledge is normally acquired through four years of college resulting in a bachelor's degree or equivalent in computer science, information technology, business intelligence, or related.
Experience:
Between two to three years' experience in a related field in planning, developing, validating, managing, and supporting analytical systems.
Certifications and Other Requirements:
Valid Driver's License.
Ability to meet the criminal background regulations mandated by the FBI CJIS Security Policy which includes a comprehensive background investigation and polygraph examination.
Reading:
Ability to read technical instructions, technical specifications, trade magazines, responses to vendor solicitations, planning documents, policies/procedures, and documents generated by staff at a high level of comprehension.
Math:
Ability to perform math calculations at a college level including basic math, percentages, and algebra as well as formulas.
Writing:
Ability to write interoffice memos, staff presentations, issue papers, planning documents, technical instructions, technical specifications and vendor solicitation documents.
Many assignments require translation of technical terms into those that can be understood by non-technical staff.
Managerial:
Job has no responsibility for the direction or supervision of others but may provide advice/direction to an employee with less experience/skill or tenure.
Budget Responsibility:
Position has no fiscal responsibility.

12 Month Objectives Learn the current environment and capabilities to development an enterprise strategy for Business Intelligence (BI) reporting of operational metrics and key performance indicators (KPIs) Develop a plan to automate the reporting of the City Manager metrics Create and train end user on dashboards for reporting critical data for business decisions Work with application developers to deploy a data warehousing strategy that supports the business intelligence reporting Create and maintain a data catalog Collect and analyze data Apply industry standard data analysis techniques and present the findings to senior level management.
Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
