Position Overview:
The Assistant VP - ERP, Clinical and Revenue Cycle Applications has responsibility for all enterprise-wide IT clinical and clinically-related application activities, including clinical, hospital administration, revenue cycle and financial ERP.
Assistant VP of - ERP, Clinical and Revenue Cycle Applications Role:
Serve and participate proactively with other members of IT-Senior Operations leadership team in developing and executing strategic and operational IT plans
Provide inspiration and motivation to the IT Clinical Applications department and all other IT stakeholders to maximize employee engagement
Provide strategic and tactical planning, development, evaluation, and coordination of the application technology
Oversee operations, configuration and lifecycle management around Electronic Medical Record, Financial ERP, and other clinical applications
Collaborate effectively with IT peers and business customers
Ensure the continuous delivery of the application project portfolio aligning and prioritizing project delivery based upon patient and business value and governance principles
Develop and maintain an application portfolio and roadmap
Coordinate, facilitate and consult with appropriate internal customers on information systems, technology and application systems initiatives
Manage multiple process and application systems and projects, including clinical, administrative, financial, and external facing applications
Ensure that applications are in compliance with applicable laws, policies and procedures
Ensure appropriate recovery plans are in place, communicated, and tested
Participate in policy and decision making discussions and make recommendations regarding resource allocation and future direction and control of proposed information systems
The Assistant VP of - ERP, Clinical and Revenue Cycle Applications must manage senior level IT staff including interviewing, training, assigning and directing work, performance management, and evaluating job performance
Partner with PMO and Portfolio Management functions to analyze resource utilization and initiate programs to maximize department efficiency and quality
Assess proposed technology projects and recommend appropriate action based on technical guidelines/standards and organizational priorities
Prepare and manage assigned budgets
Participate in or provide consultation to committees, user groups or special seminars
Manage vendor relationships in the best interest of company while providing a professional representation in the marketplace
Implement LEAN principles in all IT initiatives
Assistant VP of - ERP, Clinical and Revenue Cycle Applications Profile:
Bachelors or Master's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or related field - MBA strongly preferred
15 or more years of IT and business/industry work experience with minimum 5 years in a Healthcare/Hospital environment
Electronic Health Record (EHR) operational experience required
Experience leading technical operation of revenue cycle systems is required
Understanding of healthcare industry and ability to translate patient / business needs into technology needs as appropriate is required
EHR system selection and implementation experience strongly preferred
Strong leadership skills with a demonstrated ability to attract, develop and retain talented IT individuals
Experience in an organization with a reputation for world class IT systems and processes
Comfortable working in a consensus driven environment
Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills being able to express highly technical concepts to non-technical business partners
Ability to take responsibility for life/death situations is a vital part of the Assistant VP of - ERP, Clinical and Revenue Cycle Applications role
