About the Model The second generation of the Buick Skylark made its debut in 1968.
While Detroit was assembling large-capacity engines in large cars, Buick was no exception in the GM line.
Available with two or four doors and in a convertible top or even a station wagon, the Skylark was the base variant, followed by the Skylark 350, Custom, and GS Sport coupe.
Buick offered an inline six-cylinder, a 350ci V8, a 400ci V8, and a 455ci V8.
By 1972 new emissions standards restricted the engines in the Skylark, and Buick ended the model after two years, replacing it with the Buick Century.
In 1975, the Skylark name was brought back for a third generation.
